REJECT-DRYING
utilizing waste process heat

When on 1 June 2005 Germany put into effect its technical directives on recycling, treatment, and other disposal procedures for municipal waste, they have since become a key subject in the paper industries. Transferring screen rejects to landfills has now become practically impossible. Consequently the rejects are first sorted, prepared, and in most cases subjected to subsequent heat treatment. The need to act is reinforced further by the high specific disposal costs for rejects that demand a simple and hardy solution for cutting waste costs at paper mills. A partner to the paper industries for many years L&E took up these problems and developed a drying system for a wide range of applications at paper mills of all capacities. Langbein & Engelbracht offers a system that can raise the dry content from 50% to 90%, easily and reliably. The disposal costs are therefore reduced in inverse proportion to the dry content discharged from the compactor or press. The heat needed for drying can be drawn from various sources.
