The DEPOTHERMŽ REACTOR combines a high degree of integrated energy recovery and ideal time, temperature and turbulence characteristics, achieving an efficient and economical removal of exhaust air and odour. The thermal oxidation for the combustion of the pollutants is made in the central oxidation chamber, under which are arranged two heat recovery chambers. These chambers are switched, with a time lag, from heat dissipation to heat storage and then again to heat dissipation by means of a control system.

Thus the energy from the clean gas leaving the central oxidation chamber is stored in the heat exchanger elements in order to preheat the incoming polluted exhaust air to a temperature approximately equal to the oxidation temperature.
An electric heating (in start-up operation) which is located between the heat recovery chambers, and the organic compounds (in stationary operation) which are contained in the polluted landfill exhaust air, provide the additional energy necessary for increasing the exhaust air temperature up to the oxidation level.
